To make it easy to pray (and promote!) the Angelus, you can order color postcards featuring a lovely della Robbia Annunciation photographed in its original location by Sr. Sergia Ballini. Your purchase will also support the mission of the Daughters of St. Paul.

Or you might try printing your own... using a template you can download and print using business card paper (I formatted it to Avery 5371, but you can fiddle with it to see if it will work with other pre-cut cards). You may have to work a bit to back them up correctly; it's a two-sided card (so download both front and back).

Keep a few for yourself in handy spots to help you remember to pray the Angelus morning, noon and evening--or on your commute to work, at lunch and on the commute home.

This video was prepared to help you learn and pray the Angelus. Once you have made this practice part of your daily prayer life, you can use the video to invite others to renew their faith in central truth of the Christian faith, in which the mysteries of the Trinity and of our Redemption in Christ come together: the Incarnation of the Son of God. If we are Christians, we need to "know him whom we have believed"! The Angelus can help.

The Regina Coeli ("Queen of Heaven") is prayed in place of the Angelus (morning, noon and night) during the Easter Season, and often sung in Latin for added festivity.

A Call to Prayer

The title of this blog sounds more like a Muslim theme than something dedicated to renewing a long-standing Catholic tradition. In part, it is inspired by the fact that, yes, faithful Muslims put everything on hold five times a day to call to mind and to proclaim the central beliefs of their religion. Many Catholics have retained the tradition of praying the Angelus three times a day (morning, noon and evening), but for the most part it is a lost art.
This blog is at the service of a renewal of the practice of the Angelus by Catholics and other Christians. We all confess Jesus, born of the Virgin, as Lord and Savior: Let us proclaim and renew our faith, and invite others to do so, too.
