During the Easter season, we traditionally replace the Angelus prayer with the Regina Coeli. And so Call to Prayer: The Angelus Project will feature images of the Coronation of the Virgin in place of the usual Annunciation.

From Easter to Pentecost, pray the Regina Coeli (in place of the Angelus) three times a day: morning, noon and evening.

Queen of Heaven, rejoice, Alleluia!

Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, Alleluia!

Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord

We are in the Easter season, and so rather than the Angelus it is customary to pray the Regina Coeli. However, since the usual date for the Solemnity of the Annunciation fell this year on Palm Sunday, the observance has been shifted to today, the first available date outside of Holy Week and the Easter Octave.
Given the importance of this feast, The Angelus Project features an Annunciation image rather than a more seasonal Coronation.

This Annunciation with its especially sweet Virgin, commissioned by the kneeling personage depicted in the foreground, was executed by the workshop of Domenico Morone in around 1500. It is in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
